USE

AVAL EXTRA GROUT is designed for grouting wall and floor ceramic and stones tiles, for interior and exterior of the buildings.

PROPERTIES

Flexible – for applying on terraces, balconies, façades and in underfloor heating systems; of low absorption, with the PEARL EFFECT; protected against mould, fungi and algae with the MYCO PROTECT system; resistant to dirt, scratches, abrasion and cracking as well as oils and solvents; excellent bonding to tiles; frost-resistant, waterproof. All the colours of AVAL EXTRA GROUT match perfectly to appropriate colours of sanitary silicone AVAL EXTRA and to the chosen colours of AVAL FINISHING STRIPS and AVAL KE 35 - grout for wide joints.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The joints shall be of the same depth, free of contamination and dust

APPLICATION

Pour the dry mortar into the clean water (0.20-0.23 l per 1 kg of mortar) and mix until homogenous, manually or mechanically. Remix after ca. 5 min and begin grouting. Pot life of the grout is 2 hours. Apply mortar deeply and tightly into the joints with the use of spatula or rubber float. Note: the work shall be commenced after setting of the adhesive used for tiling. In the case of using fastbonding adhesive (e.g. AVAL KM 14) the grouting is possible just after 4 hours. There may occur discolouration of excessively absorptive tiles (e.g. natural stone, stoneware tiles) therefore it is recommended to make a test: try grouting and cleaning on a small section of joint or on unused tile. Begin with the cleaning after the grout is partially set (i.e. after ca. 15-30 min.). Light foot traffic - after 9 hours from grouting. Ready to use – after 24 hours (after 48 hours in damp rooms). Keep the freshly grouted joints slightly damp during the first few days. Additionally, to stop excessive absorptivity of grout and to increase its resistance to contamination it is recommended (after complete setting, i.e. after 2 weeks) to apply AVAL KT 95 protective agent. For one surface use the grout with the same manufacturing date and number of batch. Temperature of applying: from +5ºC to +25ºC. Width of joint: from 1 mm to 6 mm The information comprises basic instructions of product application and does not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations.

STORAGE & TRANSPORT

Store and transport in tightly closed original bags, in dry conditions (pallets are particularly recommended). Protect from damp. Shelf life (in described conditions) is 24 months from the production date on the packaging. Content of soluble chromium (VI) in ready-to-use mix - ≤ 0.0002%.
