AVAL KT 64 ACRYLIC DECORATIVE RENDERS OF RUSTIC TEXTURE
FOR MANUAL APPLICATION
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
of aggregate size : 2 mm and 3 mm
| AVAL KT 60 AND KT 64 are thin-layer structural renders designed for manual preparation of decorative external and internal plaster coatings. They can be used on all even and structurally sound mineral substrates such as concrete, traditional cement plasters, cement plasters, plasterboards and reinforced layers in the AVAL external External Wall Insulation systems. |
 |
| AVAL KT 64 renders are based on water dispersion of synthetic resins and dolomite aggregate with grain size: up to 2 mm KT 64-200 and 3 mm for KT 64-300. AVAL KT 64 renders are efficient, convenient and easy to use. They provide hydrophobic layer permeable for water vapour. They are very resistant to various damages, weather, washing, etc. Moreover, AVAL KT 64 renders contain organic agents that reduce fungi and mould development on render surface. AVAL KT 64 acrylic renders are available in 655 colours. |
 |
| The substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Remove existing paint and render coats of insufficient adhesion. Afterwards, prime the substrate using AVAL KT 17. Fill in irregularities and defects using e.g. AVAL KM 41 levelling mortar, AVAL KT 111 plastering mix or AVAL KT 29 finishing coat. Before render application, regardless of substrate type, provide a prime coat made of AVAL KT 16 priming compound. |
 |
| AVAL KT 64 are ready to use. They may not be combined with other materials, diluted or thickened. Just before application, give them a stir in order to achieve homogenous consistency. |
 |
| Apply AVAL KT 64 over prepared substrate as an even layer using a float made of stainless steel. Thickness of the bed should correspond with the aggregate grain size. Remove excess of material, place it in the bucket and mix. Form texture of the surface using a float made of plastic: with horizontal, vertical or circular movement. Open time of the render (between render application and floating) depends on substrate absorption, ambient temperature and compound consistency. Experimentally (for a given type of substrate and given weather) determine the maximum area that can be prepared in one technological cycle (application and floating). Apply the mix using the “wet on wet” method, preventing one batch from drying before application of another one. Otherwise the “seams” will be visible. Plan technological gaps in advance e.g. in corners or building angles, under rainwater pipes, etc. Protect the plastered surface, during work and when it dries, from direct sunlight, wind and precipitation. Drying time depends on the substrate, temperature and relative humidity of air and is from ca. 12 to 48 hours. In case of increased humidity and temperature ca. +5°C, render setting time may extend. Substrate and ambient temperature during work and when render dries should be from +5°C to +25°C.
Note: to avoid differences in colour shades in case of colour acrylic renders, apply render of the same production date on the same surface. If the renders are used in External Wall Insulation systems, avoid dark colours with reflection coefficient of scattered light below 20%. Share of the renders in such colours should not exceed 10% of façade surface.
The information comprises basic instructions of product application and does not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations. |

On average,
ca. 3 kg of KT 64-200 render is sufficient for 1 m2
ca. 4.0÷4.5 kg of KT 64-300 render is sufficient for 1 m2
The exact amount of mix used can be determined in a test conducted on the plastered substrate. |
 |
| A drill with a mixer or smooth floats: made of steel and plastic. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. |
 |
| Plastic buckets: 25 kg Pallet: 400 kg in 25 kg buckets |
 |
| Store and transport in tightly closed buckets in dry conditions, ensuring positive temperature (pallets are particularly recommended). Keep dry. Shelf life is 12 months from the production date on the packaging. |
 |
| Protect eyes and skin. In case of direct contact with eyes, seek medical attention. |
